Our Current EAD is expiring on 10/01/2008. So we had applied for extension in june. On july 7th our application was approved and today we recieved our EAD cards. I was expecting a one year extension , which is until 10/01/2009. But USCIS send us ead cards that will expire on 01/01/2009.
What should be the course of action here. Do i need to reapply or just contact USCIS and will they be able to fix it? Any body on similiar situation.?

It may be better to get a bank-draft or money-order for required C$, and attach to the application. In any case, Canadians are far more accomodating, they will not reject your app just because fee was not right to the cents.

Here's a rather strange and may be uncommon situation for someone I know who needs suggestions from gurus here...such huge PD movements do result in strange situations such as these :)
EB3 India Labor + I-140 certified with PD Feb 2003
EB2-140 pending at NSC hoping to port the EB3 PD date
So both cases are now current, which leads to a couple of options for AOS:
1. File based on approved EB3 (and risk a potential retrogression in future)
2. File based on pending EB2 140 before it is approved (and risk potential RFE, etc. and who knows if it would be too late to revert to the EB3)
The other option is to upgrade the EB2 140 to PP, but could you please list the relative merits of the above two options?
If I were you I will upgrade I140 to PP and wait until it is adjudicated. It should be done before 1st June if you move fast.
I will not risk filing with EB2 while I140 is still pending. I would rather go with EB3. One in hand is worth a dozen in the bush.

In my case, the X Ray shows nothing - so I am all clear on that.
My concern is I don't how big the thing became after the test was done (twice). Once in 1997 when I first came from India and next in 1998 (when i worked in NY Preysbeterian Hosptal and they mandatorily tested for TB via skin test). I have asked for the reports from NY hospital and am hoping that it is less than 10 mm as the civil surgeon says that if the size is bigger than 10 mm, I will have to go through the treatment for TB (even though i have no evidence of active TB). I hope he is wrong.
I had another question. Can I get the reports from India, when i got the TB test done? I might have the papers at home and will have to search for it or does USCIS not consider the papers from India? I hear a sealed envelope is what is needed from a doctor. In that case, we might be able to try to get in touch with the doctor that did the test and ask for a sealed envelope (showing him the papers he gave us when we got the test done).

Its upto the doctor's discretion to accept an old TB skin test(PPD), my doctor did not consider the old test results, she recommended taking a new PPD test as the test is a snapshot test which indicates the state as of the time of the test and you might be infected with TB since the last test.
Also, there is a new test as mentioned earlier called Quantiferone-Gold test (QFT-G) which provides better test of TB. However, this test is NOT certified by USCIS.
Just for clearing the doubt, you can take QFT_G test, if QFT-G result is +ve then you need to undergo treatment, if x-ray is clean and QFT result �ve you are clear of TB. My QFT-G came back as �ve and clean X-ray, however my 693 form was marked �Class B Latent� due to PPD result > 10mm, I am not taking treatment due to �ve QFT but keeping all the paperwork to respond in case of future RFE.

I listened to President's speech last Monday on immigration.But,he did not mention anything about legal immigration issues. I think ,we should send a memorandum or mass letter from each members of IV to the President.
We should communicate our problems. If everybody sends letter to the IV Team and they can submit all the letters to the President's Office. What do you think ? Any comments ? Is there any better way of communicating to the President ?

US Citizenship is valuable. Never ever think of cancelling it any time. There are plenty of jobs available in USA for skilled programmers. Only thing is patience and perseverence in your job hunt.I do not want to comment your removal of job as there might be multiple reasons not necessarily skill. There are some jobs which require US Citizenship those will have less compettion. Also you need train yourself for the skills which are hot in the market. Job hunting is always challenging even if you have excellent skills and market is good.
In India also US citizenship is valuable as employers will give some preference as you can travel USA and some other countries easily.

This time she was on H-1 and I asked the attorney that if she goes for H-1 and H-1 get's delayed or denied can she use AP without affecting the GC and his answer was Yes. The AP should have an approval date before she left the country i.e. AP should be approved while she was in US.

I got only 2 copies of AP from TSC. I might have to go to India multiple times in coming months (more that 2). Will the POE officer take the original AP on each entry? Is there any USCIS/CBP reference/guidelines that instructs the POE officer to take the copies and leave the orignals with us? Any help appriciated

Give them one orginal. Subsequent trips, just tell them that you have only one original and they will make copies. Some body posted a memo but i am telling you from my personal experience that they do not insist for original if you dont want to give them one.

My case was transferred to local office of Los Angeles, CA. I received a note saying on Dec 7th it was transferred to expedite the processing and they (LA office) will let me know when decision is made.
Current processing date for I-485 is August 19th. Does that mean that when they reach Dec 7th they will process my case regardless of my PD(which is June 05)?

No you cant do that. One should not leave country when 485 pending. Once you laid off from sponsor you can not do counsural processing also. Travelling in AP should be for a mimimum period. It will be big mistake, if you leave country without job offer. No one knows when they issue RFE for employment verification during your 485 pending period. If you do not have job when they issue RFE, thats it. Bottomline is, it is better to be employed during 485 pending and stay in the country to reply any RFE.

At this time ONLY 30% of EB2 Indians have current PDs. I've asked this question before - don't you all think that maybe dates will not have to retrogress again? I mean, 30% is too low a percentage for triggering a backward movement of PD.
