Finally all my checks have been cashed today. Reached application to NSC on July5th but as per checks back side the receipt no's allotted from Texas (Recepit no started SRC xxxxxxxxxxxx ) . Verified those receipt no's in online status and looks like they haven't entered yet in automatic system.

Perhaps 10% may still rot in NC further.

the title of thread suggests the meaning of divided interests... i think we all are ignoring one thing, lets say for ex. the administration changes its tune and makes all dates current. Then is that going to solve our problems will every one get GC right away? I dont know for sure what is the rationale for dates movement either becoz of demand of USCIS or any further directives but one thing for sure... Till Numerical limits disappear ( either by allowing recapture or eliminating country limits) no light in sight... May be it Flower campaign by "EBX" when EBX gets retrogressed is good for words...

I am happy to announce that I have received the EAD cards today (just like rc0878 had suggested). I should not have doubted the encouragement and estimation of the experience here.
So, I received the EAD cards dated Sept 18th, expiry is one year from the issue date i.e. Sept 17th, 2008 (unlike someone else's cards which were valid for only 3 months).
Let me know if someone wants to ask any other information.

I belive my situation is the same as urs....i received mine and my wife I-485 receipts in mail but nothing related to EAD. My case is also transferred to TSC from California on Sep. 17 as my I140 is approved from TSC.

Good luck!. In my opinion, you need to know following people very well apart from money if you want to lead the same lifestyle.
1. MLA or MP (Even to get good school admission you need recommendation)
2. DSP or SP level police officer (to have security in life)
3. Thasildar level officer (to have your property secure)
4. Local Dhadha's support (to protect from land acquisition, other dadhas)
5. Good neighbors, teachers and relatives (to protect our loved ones spouse/kids from emotional attack)
And of course at least 2 crores cash (half million US $??). I don't have anything right now, so I would love to spend my rest of live here hoping to get GC some day in my life.

I am not anti at all. I am trying to understand the law.
How does a (I485) spouse doesnt have EAD and AP on hand (even if not using it and in H4/L2 etc)?
Wont they have problem when the dates become current and GC is issued to primary.
Lets say I have PD of Aug 2007 and If govt makes me to file under EB and my wife under FB. When date becomes current in EB ( which has higer probability ) I will be able to file but my wife will not.
Now questions will be what will be her status ? If I switch to EAD ? second if govt give them a legal status but they have to wait for 3-4 years to date become current and file for 485.

Would also like to thank Gopal (gsc999) for getting all the banners done and helping a lot in organizing the SJ rally.Kudos to all Noble souls in the IV Core. I think what IV has acheived is amazing and unprecedented. Also money is too small to repay all the hours and work you guys have put in.
I am sure God will bless all of you with a timely GC :). Best Wishes again.

I could convince 3 of my colleagues who are READY RIGHT NOW to contribute $1000.00 each. I can do $500.00.
But they asked me just one question. What is the action plan that IV is collecting these monies from prospective immigrants who are already in pain due to this economy and all that. I did tell them about July 07, flower campaign, but they are not willing to listen. They said they did not contribute at that time due to some reasons, but they now want to contribute big way. They have a much bigger friend's circle than mine who are also doing good from top schools who may contribute too. They may also register in IV soon.
But their only question is "What is the action plan for FUTURE". Can you please help.
I am confused myself with the same question, no offense. Like me, they wouldnt wait and wait forever for things to happen. We Strongly believe in any action towards goals. Trust me, we need lots of money, but the way they responded made me feel uncomfortable.

Labor Substition was a devil which has created most of this problem as I can see there are hardly 15-20% original beneficiaries for these 2002-2003 Labors.
Employers made Labor Sub a Devil by misusing it. It has been provided to employers as a valid advantage from employer perspective.
Infact GC has become a retention perk for the employer and from the employer perspective all they need is unlimited H-1B permits. All this added to the fuel that GC has become a perk to the employee because they suck up 6 years of H-1B servitude and not a Employer benefit anymore.
I think the Govt and USCIS start to think now that

and they are slowly moving to make changes in the current law.
